SHARIN: A One-stop Immersive Virtual Healthcare Centre

    Inventor

The healthcare system in Malaysia is grappling with significant challenges, one of which is limited access to healthcare affects a substantial portion of the population, particularly those in rural or remote areas, where approximately 30% face barriers to receiving timely medical attention. In some occurrences, patients need to visit a few places in the hospital just to get simple consultations. We also would like to highlight the problem of healthcare information and medical records are often scattered across various healthcare providers, leading to difficulties in obtaining a comprehensive view of a patient's medical history. This fragmentation can result in miscommunication, duplication of tests, and compromised patient safety. To address these critical issues, SHARIN is built as an e-healthcare virtual world. This groundbreaking platform leverages advanced technology to bridge gaps in access and healthcare delivery. Through telemedicine, remote consultations become accessible to all, mitigating the challenges of distance and enhancing healthcare access. The platform streamlines appointment scheduling, significantly reducing waiting times and optimizing healthcare efficiency. Centralizing medical records across providers fosters seamless information exchange, reducing errors and improving patient safety. Additionally, the virtual e-hospital platform offers specialized healthcare services, enabling patients to access rare disease management and specialized surgeries without the need for arduous travel. Empowering individuals with health education resources and tools further promotes preventive care and health awareness.
