HRV-Lite: An IoT on Wheels Device to monitor Driver’s Physiological State

    This innovation demonstrates the IoT device on wheels approach. The gold standard for measuring heart rate variability with electrocardiogram (ECG) device is applied where the ECG sensor senses the data every 5 minutes to classify the driver’s physiological state, either normal or abnormal. If the readings within 5 minutes is beyond the threshold, visual notification in the form of RGB LED (red) will be available for the drivers. The driver may slow down or stop the vehicle for rest and re-evaluate his conditions. If further medical assistance is required, the driver will be able to get early help from professionals and inform their next of kin. Moreover, the stored data can be downloaded and shared for reference and further health evaluation of the driver.
